Local offers
One size doesn't fit all
With several thousand homes in different areas, we’re aware that one size doesn't fit all. At the end of 2010 we talked to more than 1,000 residents about their priorities for their local areas.
As a result we’ve produced a number of local offers, especially for our larger housing estates, care schemes and foyers. These local offers highlight the priorities residents told us about and what we will be doing to address them over the next year.
These local offers are in addition to our Customer Promises - also known as service standards. These promises are the commitments we make to all residents about the kind of service you can expect from East Thames. They cover a wide range of services including customer care and how fast we will carry out a range of repairs.
So far we have developed local offers for our largest housing estates, care schemes and foyers, but we'll be considering whether we can develop more in the coming year.

Why we have created local offers?
We're listening to what our residents want and improving local services. Many service standards are already in place, such as complaints and repairs response times, and these apply to all East Thames residents. But we do know that different areas and communities have different issues and priorities and local offers are one way we're trying to address these needs.
An example of how we can localise our services to meet the needs of local communities may include providing support to start a Tenants and Residents Association (TRA), and specific communal repairs residents would like to see introduced.
