About the interview and selection process

Here is a bit more information about East Thames’ interview and selection process.
1. You may be invited to complete assessment tests
We use a variety of assessment methods to measure the skills and capabilities necessary to be successful in the role you have applied for. The tests we use are a mixture of verbal comprehension, personality questions and numerical skills. Some of the tests are online and others are in a classroom environment. The testing may take place before you are invited to an interview or on the same day as the interview.
2. Our interviews are structured
Most of our interviews take a structured route, with a panel asking you a number of questions. It is always a two-way process and there will be time for you to ask questions too. Keep your answers to the point and try to give us succinct examples that best show your skills and experience. Have a look at our interview tips for more information.
3. We will provide feedback to all candidates
Regardless of whether you are successful, you can ask for feedback on your application, testing and interview to help you learn from the experience and prepare for the next step.
4. Successful candidates
Once the panel has considered the interview and assessment results they will make a decision as to who they want to appoint. The successful candidate will receive a phone call to make a provisional informal offer. If your response is favorable this will be followed up by a formal provisional offer. At this stage there are some forms to be completed, documents to supply and we’ll also seek references. A starting date won’t be agreed until all of the required documents are on file and authorised. But we’ll keep you informed along the way and let you know what is needed.
