Annual Review 2010/11

Supporting people

Our passion to respond to the needs of our diverse residents is something that cuts across all of our services. However, it's our care and support services that enable us to help and protect vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our communities.

We've been evolving our care and support services to enable us to become more resilient and robust when facing the funding cuts happening across the sector.

Read on to see how we've helped people with support needs become more independent and learn new skills, and helped others lead greener, healthier lifestyles.

Building communities

To help our communities grow stronger we provide programmes that bring people together and enable them to improve their lives, help their neighbours and give back to their local area.

During 2010/11 we've worked with our many partners to provide a wide range of programmes covering arts and culture, local business, neighbourhood safety and family support. Read on to see which of our community programmes had the biggest impact on our residents' lives.

Providing quality homes

We're working hard to deliver new homes, make best use of our existing homes, and help families find a home that suits their needs. During 2010/11, with the help of our partners, we completed some of our most diverse, innovative and exciting developments to date.

Read on to see how our communities benefited from these affordable new homes, and our improved housing management.

Our people and partners

We really are passionate and committed to making a positive and lasting contribution to the neighbourhoods where we work, and we believe in the products and programmes we provide. We take our social responsibility very seriously, and by partnering up with other socially-minded local organisations, we've seen our employment, arts and community programmes make a bigger impact than ever before.

The future

The future holds many challenges which will make it more difficult for us to continue making a difference. However, we have a clear and determined focus to support our residents through this tricky time. But along with these challenges, we see big opportunities, including several regeneration programmes and the transformation of the Athletes Village into affordable housing, post the 2012 Olympics.
