Floating support is a flexible, usually short- term service provided by East Thames that helps people manage their lives while staying in their own home. Support can be provided wherever it is needed; at home, in temporary or supported accommodation or anywhere else that is convenient.
Floating support can help people with sensory or physical disabilities, mental health problems, substance abuse problems, long term illnesses, addiction and those at risk of homelessness or violence.
This service aims to help integrate people back into the community by maintaining their independence, developing supportive local links and preventing homelessness.
The support plan is tailored to help individuals with:
- Housing management
- Finance management
- Recovery from addiction, illness or injury
- Daily tasks such as shopping, cleaning and getting active
- Developing personal relationships and getting involved in the community
