Many East Thames residents are affected by government changes to welfare benefits. We know these changes are unsettling and that your income may have been cut as a result, so we want to make sure we are providing the right advice and support for our residents to help you adapt to the changes.

Welfare benefits advice

Employment and training support

Some of the changes to welfare benefits won’t affect you if you have a job so it's a good idea to think about getting into work. Every year our employment and training programmes help over 200 people to find employment. Budgeting support

Welfare reforms may put increasing pressure on you to manage your household budget. If you are struggling to make your money stretch further, contact the welfare benefits team  0208 522 2040 or email welfare.benefits@east-thames.co.uk. Don’t live in silence, the team are here to support you.

Alternatively there are independent organisations that can help you to manage your money:
