East Thames has transformed three disused patches of land into green, blooming sites for local people to grow their own food.
As part of our New Shoots project we’re inviting East Thames residents to come along and grow your own food on these sites. And if you don’t know how, we can teach you! We run weekly growing sessions and monthly basic horticultural workshops that will take you through the basics, from when to plant your seeds, right through to harvesting and storing your food.
Getting involved in the New Shoots project is a great way to get outdoors, meet people in your area and even save cash by growing your own delicious organic fruit and vegetables.
Our three sites are located at Leyes Road, E16, Beckton Community Centre, E6 and Katherine Road, E7.
If you would like to come along or you just want to find out more, please contact Steve Bynon on 020 8522 2407 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Alison Skeat on 07961 674210 or email@example.com.
And we’re looking for new sites too! If you know of any disused or derelict land that could be transformed into a food growing patch, please do get in touch.
