We're stamping out bribery

Say no to bribery

The Bribery Act 2010, which came into force on 1 July 2011, updates the UK’s bribery law and clarifies the consequences of giving and receiving bribes for both individuals and organisations.

Bribery, in all its forms is negative and destructive and we are committed to making sure neither staff, nor those working on our behalf engage in inappropriate actions which could lead to repercussions for East Thames.

We have therefore put in place an Anti Fraud, Theft and Bribery Policy, setting out how we aim to prevent and respond to incidents of fraud theft and bribery or any other financial irregularity.

Our policy applies to all staff, board members, contractors, agency and bank staff, panel members and volunteers, Group wide, and extends to Associated Third Parties as defined by the Act.

The policy makes clear that we will not tolerate fraud, theft or bribery of any type and will take steps to prevent and deter fraud, theft or bribery against the Group.  In addition we will aim to protect our vulnerable residents from fraud, theft or bribery.

We will be writing to our main contractors too to confirm that under our policy any supplier or agent involved in bribery should expect their contract to be terminated, damages sought and the matter referred to the Police, employing organisations and/ or professional bodies.

If you have any questions or wish to report suspected fraud, theft, or bribery against East Thames please email fraud@east-thames.co.uk.
