Yvonne Arrowsmith 
Group Chief Executive

Yvonne was appointed to lead East Thames as an Executive Director and the Chief Executive of the Group in September 2014.
 

Yvonne was formerly Group Operations Director at Family Mosaic where she was responsible for a large portfolio of housing, care and support services, social and economic regeneration and the customer contact centre.  She has worked in housing associations covering London, Essex and the South East of England for the past 20 years, initially within care and support services, moving into general operations in the last decade.
 
Prior to this Yvonne worked for the NHS. She originally trained as a registered nurse and since went on to specialise in cardiac nursing at the National Heart Hospital.
 

Olu Olanrewaju
Executive Director of Operations

Olu joined East Thames in December 2013 to lead our Communities and Neighbourhoods directorate. He has a wide remit including all the Group’s landlord services, customer service, care and support, and repairs delivery.
 
Olu was Interim Director of Communities and Neighbourhoods from October 2013 and was a member of East Thames’ board from 2001 to 2008, first as Chair of East Homes, an operating subsidiary, then as Vice Chair of the Group.
 
He has two decades of experience in housing, including senior roles at several housing associations such as Midland Heart, Genesis and Radian. He is also on the board of a small housing charity and is a trustee at Common Purpose.
 

Simon Bass
Executive Director of Corporate Resources

Simon joined East Thames at the start of 2013 to lead our Corporate Resources directorate. He is responsible for overseeing the finance and treasury functions as well as a wide range of support services and business improvement activities.
 
Simon’s career has seen him work in the public, private and charity sectors, specialising in finance, corporate resources and business change.
 
Prior to joining East Thames he was the Executive Director for Finance at Action for Children where he also had responsibility for IS and Property portfolios.
 
From the mid 1990s Simon spent the best part of a decade working for housing associations, including seven years as Director of Corporate Resources at Stonham, now the supported housing part of the Home Group.
Simon also has experience within the chemicals and transport sectors and originally trained as an auditor with Coopers in Lybrand, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1983. He is an associate member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
 

Andy Rowland
Executive Director of Development and Sales

Andy joined East Thames from L&Q in February 2017, and has previously worked in development for other London-based housing associations. He has over 30 years housing, surveying and development experience. At L&Q he was responsible for regeneration, joint venture and major projects, including new business as well as on-going, long-term schemes.
