The successful delivery of excellent housing developments requires strong partnerships and we very much value the partnerships we have developed with government, other housing associations, builders, developers and private enterprise.
We also work with 15 local authority partners in east London and Essex. We have worked with local authorities on major regeneration projects, often involving building new homes and improving conditions for existing Council residents.
We have Investment Partner status from the Homes and Communities Agency which allows us to apply for funding for developing affordable homes.
Specialist partners panel
Having helped a number of small RSLs to develop homes, we decided to take this commitment one step further and we created a specialist partners panel in 2008. We ran a competitive tender process to select a committed group of RSLs to work with.
The panel allows us to help small RSLs to develop homes, but it also allows for the sharing of best practice amongst all of the partners. For example, we have been able to help some of the partners communicate shared ownership to their residents and held joint housing options days. The membership of the panel includes:
- North London Muslim Housing Association
- Tamil Community Housing Association
- Spitalfields Housing Association
- Karin Housing Association
- BAHAY KUBO Housing Association
- Industrial Dwelling Society and
- West Coast Housing Association.
