East Thames offers specialist accommodation and support for young people aged 16-24 at risk of becoming homeless. We offer more than a place to stay; we also help young people get back into education or employment and help them address the underlying problems they have. Our young residents stay for between six months and two years with the aim to then move on to independent living or back with their family through support received from East Thames.
We also help young parents aged 16 - 25 overcome challenges during their pregnancy and the first year of their baby’s life. Accommodation is available to young mothers, fathers and couples and the support given aims to enable the young families to move on and live independent and healthy lives.
We offer the following support to our young residents:
- affordable accommodation for up to two years
- training and support services
- one-to-one mentoring
- job search facilities
- sports, arts and social activities
- help for residents to return to their families or find a place to live
- parenting and life skills
Our young people services are available in Harlow, Redbridge and Epping Forest.
