Neighbourhood Champions are residents who work closely with L&Q to improve their local area. They meet L&Q staff regularly to:

  • Take part in estate inspections
  • Report communal repairs
  • Report any issues of concern and suggest improvements
  • Identify estate improvements and participate in estate improvement bids
  • Provide feedback on L&Q contractors
  • Organise community events such as planting days or litter pick-ups

Eligibility criteria:

  • You need to be an L&Q resident (social housing resident, private renter, market renter, L&Q Living resident, homeowner or leaseholder)
  • You need to be over 16 years old
  • You need to not have any outstanding tenancy/ lease breaches (anti-social behaviour, rent arrears etc.)
  • You need to have an interest in improving your local area
  • You need to be able to carry out and commit to monthly inspections
  • You need to be willing to work in partnership with L&Q, for the good of your community

What you can get out of it: 

  • Help make a difference in your local area by making it a safer, cleaner and more attractive place to live
  • Have a say on what improvements and changes happen within your local area
  • Have a say on how funding is raised and spent within the local community
  • Be able to annually apply for an additional £400 payment from L&Q, to fund local projects within you community
  • Meet new people both within your local area and within L&Q

Time Commitment:

  • Around an hour every month
